Team CV

Archie Prentice

Founder and director

In the past I have held management positions in the public (development agency, environmental agency and further education) and private (production manager in multinationals, running my own business) sectors. Through these positions I have operational experience from the coal face of the challenges facing organisations and their staff when introducing new environmental improvements and initiatives.

The impetus for Practically Green was to help clients maximise the benefits they can achieve from improving their environmental performance and engagement with environmental issues. Having been involved with managing multimillion pound production facilities in the past, I have seen first hand, the financial improvements businesses can make from raising their environmental performance.

Living in the highlands, I am involved in a number of outdoor events and activities. I like to think I was a pioneer of Scottish mountain biking, perhaps being the first person to cycle a 10 speed racing bike over Carnethy in the Pentlands in the early 1980s – not advisable! I try and undertake a couple of endurance events/marathons each year. I am married with a young family.

I am a director of our local Community Trust and an associate member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. I have an MSc in rural business organisation and management and an MBA.
